first impression: mac pro longwear paint pot in 'vintage selection'.

Welcome the latest edition to the family! This is MAC's Pro Longwear Paint Pot in 'Vintage Selection' ($18.50). The only other Paint Pot that I have is in Painterly, and I mostly use it as a base so less pigmented shadows have something to adhere to once I apply it over my lid. Paint Pots help eyeshadows from creasing, at least on my lid. My lids are not especially oily, nor is creasing a big issue that I have, but it's always better to be safe than sorry when you don't have all of your make-up within reach to fix or touch up.

This has to be the worst swatch anyone has ever seen on a blog, but it's the best I can do with the limited equipment and hands that I have. The MAC website describes Vintage Selection as a "frosted dirty peach." On my skin, however, it has far more pink undertones than peach from what I can tell. And this is also by no means a matte finished. It's very frosted and sparkly compared to Painterly. However, I swatched Bare Study next to Vintage Selection while I was at the MAC counter, and the sales associated pointed out how subtle the shimmer was compared to the others. I have to agree.

It's quite a beauty and I plan on using it tomorrow morning for Easter Sunday brunch!

Do you own any MAC Paint Pots? I have been looking in to Bare Study and Groundwork as well, but one Paint Pot at a time is what I tell myself.

xx.

    1. Oh my goodness, I definitely think you should look in to their Paint Pots then! If not, definitely they're eye shadows. I find that the attitude of employees differ from counter to counter, store to store, but if you get lucky and find a person who is really willing to take the time and help you find what suits you the best, you may become a total MAC junkie! xx
